St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick, also known as Patron of Ireland, was born on 387 at Kilpatrick,
near Dumbarton and died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland on March 17,461. At age
14 or so he was taken to Ireland as a slave where he tended sheep. There he
learned the language and practices. He turned to God and after having a dream
about him at age 20 he escaped. For years he studied priesthood and later was
ordained a bishop where was sent to take the Gospel to Ireland. He preached the
Gospel to many throughout Ireland. He converted many and his disciples
converted even more and built churches all over the country.
