Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like ship without a rudder.”
                                         -Thomas Carlyle

If we don’t have our goals than we don’t have a place to go, our goals are what take us where we want to get but if we don’t have any goals then where are we going to end up? We all need to have a t least some goals in our life because they are our future; they push us to get to better places in life. Our goals are our rudder without them we would only head to one direction, nowhere. There many different goals for many people it may be something so simple or something very complex but if you set it as your goals and do everything you can to reach than nothing can stop you. No matter what your goal is and if people find it silly, if you really want to achieve it than you shouldn’t let anything stand In the way of it.

Student Success Statement

“If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
Conclusion: I there is beauty in a character, there will be peace in the world.”
                           -Chinese Proverb

I have never heard this before but it sound like it can really be true. If we all and a beautiful character there wouldn’t be so much hate and crime in the world. I do think if this was more true the world really would be in more peace.
“The Six Pillars of Character”

1.      Trustworthiness: make a good reputation, be loyal, be honest, be reliable, don’t be afraid to do what is right, stand by your family and friends
2.     Respect: be considerate of other people’s feelings, treat others with respect, don’t use bad language, don’t hit, threaten, or hurt anyone
3.    Responsibility: do what you are supposed to do, be self-disciplined, set a good example for others, think before you act, be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes
4.    Fairness: don’t take advantage of others, play by the rules, treat everyone fair, don’t blame others carelessly
5.     Caring: be kind, be compassionate and show your care, forgive others, express gratitude, help people in need
6.    Citizenship: cooperate, be a good neighbor, follow the law, volunteer, protect the environment

Reflection: These pillars are what everyone need to have and not just tow or three of them but all of them. Without these pillars we are not people that set a good example, we are people who are choosing the wrong. With these pillars we are looked up too and trusted. Much more good things come to people when they follow the six pillars of character and when they choose the right.

   STUDENT SUCCESS STATEMENT

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”       -Sophocles

This is something that I would want to do too. I wouldn’t want to win if I did it by cheating. When you cheat you don’t really win at all because you didn’t win it fairly you won it by doing the wrong thing. Even if I were to lose I know that I had tried my best and put in my best effort which is all I can do, but cheating is never the answer and if anyone finds that you cheated everyone looks down at you because no one like cheaters. Remember CHEATERS NEVER PROSPER!
   Memorial Day

The first Memorial Day was three years after the civil war ended on May 5, 1858. The head of the Grand Army of the Republic organization of Union veterans established Decoration Day as a day to decorate the graves of the war dead. Memorial Day is now every May 25.  Memorial Day honors all the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. On memorial Day lots of people visit cemeteries and memorials. It is also traditional to fly the flag of the United States at half-mast from dawn until noon.

“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”
                           -Wilford Woodruff

This is very true; nothing can ever be gained by doing the wrong thing. When you do the wrong thing all it does is lead you to problems and consequences for not doing the right thing from the start. When you do the wrong it will never lead you t anything good, even if it seems good at the moment all it does is lead to trouble.

“Nicest Man in the World”
                    Patrick Morgan
                           Florida

Patrick Morgan works at an airport, he found and iPad case filled with thousands of dollars. Know you would think that he would keep it to himself, but he was named the nicest man for a reason, instead of keeping the money he found Patrick reported the money he found. The owner of the case got his money back and gave Patrick a $60 dollar reward, if you ask me he sounds like an ungrateful bastard. Even the $60 reward Patrick didn’t keep the money for him, he gave to a homeless lady, know that that ladies and gentleman is selflessness. This great man did so many wonderful thing, things that he didn’t have to do but he did them out of the kindness of him heart.
Student Success Statement

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.”
                           -Dr.Laura Schlessinger

I think this is very true because these are the things you get from doing the right and they are better rewards than anything else. Doing the right thing will always give you self-respect and dignity because you know your choosing the right and there is nothing that can contradict that. I also believe that it gives self-esteem, because when you do the right thing you feel really good about the person you are and you know that you will keep feeling like this if you keep doing the right.

“When a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive.”
                           -Alan Paton

I think this is a great statement. We all need to forgive at some point or the other because when we don’t we’re full of resentment and that eats people away. No matter how bad someone hurt you the best way to make yourself feel better is to forgive because it’s something you need for yourself so that you can be happy and move on. You don’t always have to forgive right away a little anger isn’t bad but when you let it take over everything that is the limit. Having all that

“Dare to stand alone.”
-Thomas S. Monson

Sometimes standing alone is the best thing to do because it is better to stand alone than to stand with people that is going to take you down a bad path. Instead of following the crowd people should stay away from it because it just leads to trouble. You never really know the type of people that they are, unless they are good people who are choosing the right it’s better to stay away from them.
